Ive always been clear with a strong sense of advocating for underrepresented Black communities. I have taken deliberate steps toward a career in law by gaining real-world experience in leadership, advocacy, and policy. From obtaining my real estate license to engaging with legislators and delivering impactful speeches, these experiences have prepared me to pursue legal studies with a focus on driving meaningful change.

Engaging with former congresswomen gave me direct exposure to legislative processes and insights into policymaking at a high level. This experience will enrich my future legal career by providing a deeper understanding of how laws are created and shaped through political advocacy.

Obtaining My Real Estate License

Obtaining my real estate license in January has equipped me with practical knowledge in property law and contract negotiations. This background will be invaluable in understanding real estate legal matters, offering a niche expertise in property law as part of my future legal practice.

Delivering Speeches at Orangeburg City Council

By delivering multiple speeches at Orangeburg City Council, I played a role in the successful transfer of ownership of Goff to Claflin University. This accomplishment highlights my ability to use persuasive legal arguments to achieve tangible results, a skill that is essential for a successful legal career.

Most Recently: 202 Voter Engagement Initiatives

This semester, I successfully organized a series of impactful voter engagement events to inspire civic participation and raise awareness about the importance of voting.

1. Voter Registration Drives: I hosted three voter registration drives and tabling events, providing essential resources and ensuring individuals were prepared to exercise their right to vote.

2. Panel Discussions: I spoke on two panels addressing voter suppression and the importance of voting, fostering meaningful conversations about the barriers to voting and how to overcome them.

3. Debate Watch Parties: I hosted watch parties for both the vice-presidential and presidential debates, creating a space for the community to gather and engage in discussions about key political issues.

4. Early Voting Events: I arranged a “Bus to the Polls” event, providing transportation to encourage early voting and eliminate barriers to participation.

5. March to the Polls: I coordinated a “March to the Polls” event, combining civic action with a debate night watch party to inspire and empower voters.

Through these initiatives, I aimed to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities and make voting more accessible for everyone.
